About Ice Skating

Earlier in winters locals went skating on frozen lakes. Today a nice skating rink is available in many destinations where everyone can try their hand, and if staying for a few days, skate with ease. Later they can become a spectator for competing matches. Before trying your hand, please ensure that your shoes fit properly as a twisted ankle takes ages to heal. Also, in the beginning do not venture far from the skating-chair, which every newbie uses. Once you fall down, getting up and saving your hands from oncoming skating people is very, very difficult. But once you are adept, the experience is so overwhelming, you will skate for hours together.

Other Major Activities

    Don’t look down when skating.
Get some good skates also wear helmet.
    Don’t lean backwards when skating.
Tie skates the correct way Make sure your skates are not too tight or your feet will likely go numb, while having your skates too loose will not provide the proper support for your ankles.
Warm up slowly Prior to skating, it’s not really wise to just throw your leg over a barrier and start stretching. Stretching in a cold environment can lead to muscle tears.
Take a few group lessons which are available at most rinks and for a variety of ages. Also take a friend along, as learning with someone will help you relax on the ice.
