This is a no holds barred town. Barely 9 hours from Delhi, it can be reached any time of the year and enjoyed to the fullest. With not so cold winters (compared to real hill stations) and not so warm summers, it is an idyllic hill station.

Chamba is best visited between the months of March to June for moderately hot weather and December to February if you prefer snow and don't mind chilly weather. Summers in the valley of Chamba are warm, but not uncomfortably so. Chamba has very tolerable days and cool romantic nights. Don't think twice before visiting if you are planning an offbeat vacation or honeymoon.

July sees the beginning of monsoons, and though it's not advisable to visit the district in heavy rain falls, the misty developments are complementary to the greenery. December is the time for you if you like chilly climes but not with too much fuss. Carry heavy woolens as the temperature tends to drop to sub-zero ranges.

Summers
Summers start in April and last till June. The days are quite pleasant and the night becomes considerably cold. The day temperature does not rise above 38 degrees. More often this season sees the heaviest lot of tourists. Light cottons do their job admirably well and they even work well at nights. Moving around at night is very common here and people seem to enjoy the valley especially on full moon.

Monsoons
The monsoon season starts in July and stays till October end. The temperature ranges between 15 and 35 degrees. Travel advisory is mostly against arriving here because of landslides, the misty and cool climes invite the daring couples. Tourists should keep a day or two in addition because roadblocks take time to clear. It is an experience if you love rainfall in hills. Full sleeved clothes justify their usage as nights turn mighty cool.

Winters
The winters settle in late October and stay till March. The winters quite often sees Chamba transforming into a winter wonderland. The temperature can drop to sub-zero ranges but it lasts for only a couple of days not more. December and January months witness heavy snowfall leaving the whole district covered in the sheet of snow. Chamba remains snow covered in the months of February and March as well. Heavy to very heavy woolens are suggested to the tourists.
