About Chopta

Known as the mini Switzerland its popularity is on the rise year after year. Located at an altitude of 2,700 m in Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand, it is surrounded by dense forest and offers majestic views of the snowcapped Himalayan ranges and lush green meadows. Chopta is also the starting point for the trek to famous Tungnath Temple (Panch Kedar Temple) and Chandrashila Summit. It occupies a height of 3,600 meters and the trek can be completed without any guide. While trekking, the tourists can also take a similar trek to the nearby Deoria Tal, a famous destination which is surrounded entirely by forests on all sides. Just lying under the Chaukhumba Peak, it will be better if the tourist hires a guide to arrive here.
