About Jawhar

Jawhar is a popular cityand monsoon hill destination locatedwithin Palghardistrict, falling in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The princely state of Jawhar was established in the year 1343m and soon it became the part of Bombay Presidency in times of imperial rule. How to Reach

By Air

Nearest airport is Mumbai, 140 kilometers away. Taxis are available for all onward destinations.

 

By Train

Nearest railhead is Igatpuri, 61 kilometers on the Central Railway. Even Dahanu Road on the Western Railway is 65 kilometers away. But locals say Nashik is the most convenient with plenty of transport options for travelers.

By Road

Buses, Taxis regularly run between Jawhar and Mumbai, Nashik and Thane.

Best Time to Visit

Summer temperatures soar slightly above normal but if you can withstand, you can visit Jawhar all through the year. Winters are mildly cold and pleasant.
