EVENTS/FESTIVALS

Garnished with Jaggery, Cardamom and Cashew nuts is made, and this dish is dedicated to The Sun God. The festival falls in middle of January each year. Saraswathy Pooja This festival is celebrated in the last three days of the Navaratri festival and dedicated to Goddess Saraswathy. It is only during this time the preparations for Krishnanattam, Kathakali, and Kalaripayattu etc. are carried out. Ekadasi Festival Ekadasi Festival is yet another significant festival of the town which falls on eleventh day of each lunar fortnight. The Vrishchika Ekadasi is revered in the Megamalai. Key highlight of this festival is that ceremonial honoris given to Gajarajan Kesavan.

SHOPPING AREA

There is a small local market, where tourists can always get fresh quality cardamoms, cashew nuts and jaggery. Local articles of utility are also available out here.
