The ‘Queen of the Blue Mountains’ as Ooty is popularly known, it is extending across cascade of hills, hidden in Nilgiri Hills and surrounded in thin blue mist. This fabulous hill station exudes its own charm, innocence and pristine beauty. The full name of hill station is Ootacamund or Udhagamandalam, it happens to be the most visited, and liked hill station in state of Tamil Nadu.Ooty is a simple yet sophisticated small town bustling with plenty of activity and tourism. How to Reach

By Air

The nearest airport is Coimbatore (96 kilometers).

 

By Rail

Ooty is connected to Mettupalayam Railway Station on the meter gauge section.

 

By Road

Ooty is well connected roads. It is 535 kilometres from Chennai, 80 kilometres from Coimbatore and 155 kilometres from Mysore. Ooty is situated on National Highway NH 67 and is connected by road via the five main accepted Nilgiri Ghat Roads.

 

 

Best Time to Visit

Ooty being a hill station maintains cool climate throughout the year! Only exceptionally the temperature may go below the freezing point. High winds lash the city all day bringing relief from the humidity. Mornings & nights are colder and need light woolens; else the weather is normally pleasant!
