About Panhala

Comfortably located at elevation of 3177 feet and 18 kms from Kolhapur, Panhala is a beautiful hill station and known among tourists. It houses famous Panhala fort which has prodigious association with Maratha Empire and King – Shivaji. However, the famous king spent not more than one and half years of his life. The fort originally serves as citadel of Shilahara ruler Bhoja II. After few years, the Yadav Kings inhabited fort. The prominence to fort was established during Bahamani kingdom of Bidar. The beauty of Panhala Hill station enthralls senses of tourists. It is an ideal hill station to enjoy perfect break, quite away from the noise and city pollution. This hill station can be visited anytime of the year. The scenic landscape of hill station frees you from stress.
