EVENTS/FESTIVALS

Guru Dragmar chaam
This is a mask dance considerd religious in the Buddhist sect and is performed every year between February and March at the Pemayagtse Monastery.
Khecheopalri Mela
It is celebrated fro about three days, starting from the 15th day of the first month of Tibetan Calender, by several pilgrims from Sikkim and neighbouring states. During this mela, the pilgrims offer ceremonies and light lamps at the Khecheolpuri Lake. This falls between the month of February and March.
Manghey Sankranti
Held at the Rimbi River, Manghey Sankrati is a public festival celebrated by every Hindu family on January 14. During this festival at the banks of Rimbi River, many stalls of different types of cuisines, crafts and traditional arts are arranged and the air is filled with celebration by song and dance.
Pang lhabsol
Celebrated over two days between late August and early September, the Pang Ihabsol festival is a festival where laymen dance to please the deities and offer them various foods and drinks.
