trekking in Sonamarg

Sonamarg, fondly named as the Trekkers' Paradise, obviously has some excellent treks in its kitty. Tourists who have experienced the treks often speak volumes about the greenery, undulating vistas and striking beauty of each of the treks like Thajiwas Glacier, Kishansar, Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Gangabal. The now famous seven-day trek is talked off in good numbers and most tourists visiting Sonamarg regularly ask about it.

Tourists simply love the idea of leaving mobile connectivity behind and living in total seclusion. Plus the idea of camping en route is something which everyone wants to explore. Though the seven-day trek is not for everyone as climbing lofty peaks is quite difficult. Those who cannot dream of completing the seven-day trek, easily reach for the individual treks to either of the places mentioned above.

How to prepare beginners for great lakes trek

For a satisfying experience, tourists need to put some hard work as a preparation for the trek.

2.      Climbing is an exhaustive task hence some regular jogging of 3-5 km will surely help.

3.      Other than this, some squats and stretches of different reps would increase your stamina.

4.      Try sleeping inside a tent so that you know whether you can easily withstand the night while on the trek.

Food plays a vital role

Good food ensures your bowel cleans up regularly and then whatever nutritious food you eat, it reaches various body parts.

1.      Foods like garlic soup, ginger tea at breakfast etc. do well to energize your body.

2.      Small foods like dry fruits & chocolates don't take too much space but provide almost instant energy.

Get used to them before starting your trek so that you know whether your body tolerates them well or not.
