About Yercaud

Known as the Jewel of the South, Yercaud stands tall at about 5,000 feet. Fruits like Oranges, Coffee, Banana, Pear and Jackfruit are grown in abundance that fill the air with their tingling fragrances. Salem is the nearest town within 28 kilometers. EVENTS/FESTIVALS

The festival is held each year in second week of May. Residents and visitors participate in festivities, and premium ones include flower shows, dog shows and boat races.Besides, several cultural shows are also arranged; all of which make a huge difference.

SHOPPING AREA

Cloves and pepper are popular and tourists make sure to buy them on their last day of tour. Furthermore, there is also preponderance of organic garden produce along the road uphill going from Salem to Yercaud. The Salem Co-operative Super Market Branch and the Main Bazaar are key shopping places.
