Peermade

Peermade is a fabulous hill station located in the state of Kerala, India. The hill station has an elevation of approximately 915 meters (3,002 ft.) above sea level, surrounded by the Western Ghats.Peermade is located around 83 kilometers (53 miles) to the East of Kottayam, and enroute Thekkady.The area is enormously fertile, making it ideal for plantation of coffee, tea, cardamom, and coconut. Peermede is now focusing on producing organic black pepper, white pepper, ginger and turmeric. The scenery of Peermede comprisesremarkable waterfalls, open grass lands and more astoundingly the pine forests.The spectacular hill station was considered as the summer retreat of the Maharajas of Travancore.This hill station is inhabited by Peermade’s population.
